The Disinformation Diaries is a game-based media literacy tool to help you better understand how disinformation and deepfakes can interfere with democratic elections.
In the game, players take on the role of a fictional politician, who lost an election to her political rival because of the impact of a deepfake and disinformation campaign deployed against her. Through a series of diary entries, she documents her journey of recovery from the unexpected political defeat to the development of counter strategies and skills she plans to use in order to win the next election.
The goal of the project is to increase the media literacy of political candidates and their staff especially as it pertains to election integrity by helping them develop practical skills for navigating disinformation. Of course, the game is educational for everybody who is concerned with the threat of disinformation and malign interreference in elections.
Once completed, you will gain a certificate of completion! Be sure to post it on your social media channels to showcase that you are in fact, media savvy!
The Disinformation Diaries was designed and developed by Ora D.
